Obama for President

Today the kids and I helped make history. The kids had no school today and I thought it would be a great learning experience for the kids to go vote with me. On our way to vote, I saw this huge Obama sign and I thought "perfect photo op". Ryan wasn't willing to participate, but Abbey is always happy to have her picture taken and pose of course. We then headed to vote. Our Choice, clear to see. Now we just have to wait and see. I hope you all had a chance to vote. If Hillary can't be president, then we will back Obama!

Farm Frenzy

Our Columbus Day weekend was a farm frenzy. It was the first weekend that we have had absolutely nothing we "had" to do. Oh how I love that. We started the weekend off here at Ponemah farms in Amherst NH. We were driving by and saw the Red Sox pumpkins and had to stop. Of course I had my camera with me, so this turned out to be a photo op.

NEXT STOP:

Tinker Road for some pictures of the view! I am a true New Engender. I sound like one, I act like one, and I love being one. I love having the four seasons, even know it's more like 2 (summer and winter), but I absolutely love Fall. By far this is truly the most beautiful time of year. The air smells like pumpkins and leaves. The pumpkin patches are ready to be picked. You can go Apple picking. Paul decorates the yard. I can wear my big baggy sweaters with my jeans and flip flops. I love it.

Sunday: APPLE PICKING AT PARLEE
It was the perfect weekend for apple picking. That was obvious by the amount of people at Parlee Farm. Nana and papa cam with us and we all picked apples, played in the hay maze,Tractor rode, ate apples, and cookies and of course their magnificent donuts (I don't like donuts, nor do I eat them, but those apple cider donuts smell amazing). Yep, and I took more pictures.

Next stop: Farm in Tynsborough

I don't even know the name of the farm we went to, but we try to go every year to get our hay and cornstalks for the yard. They seem to be the cheapest in the area. They also have a gorgeous view.

Pictures:

I hope you all had as good as weekend as we did. Happy Fall Y'all.

School Picture photo shoot.

How cute do they look? As you can see, Abbey Loves to have her picture taken, and will even pose more than you would like her to do. I did get some great pics.

Ryan will let me take his picture, but he is not as cooperative. I have to make him some sort of deal so he will let me take the pictures. I think he got cookies out of this photo shoot. So, school is off to a great start and abbey and Ryan are doing well, and loving school. I'll let you know how things are in March.

For the Love of Princess

To say it has been a rough week is putting it mildly. As many of you know, Princess has had a rough year. She has mouth surgery, GI issues and more GI issues. She is 11 years old and has been one of the loves of my life. Princess is not only a amazing dog and pet, but she represents so many memories for us. When Beanie babies were "big", and going for a lot of my money, I sold mine to purchase her. She was the smallest, most gorgeous puppy I have ever seen. She is my country dog. I bought her at a flea market in North Carolina. She was my surprise for Paul. . I never told him that I was buying a dog, so to his surprise there she was she was sitting on the bed looking oh so cute. She is my perfect lapdog. She is my Princess.
Well, anyways, she was not feeling well this weekend and it was evident in her face. I figured it was just another GI event. Well, when I woke up at 7am Monday morning, she was nowhere to be found. I called her, I looked all over. When I looked on the other side of my bed, there she was flat out on the floor looking completely out of it. She was cold and non responsive. Oh course I panicked. I called the Vet and she said to meet her there at 8am. I dropped the kids off at the neighbors, who so nicely got them off to school, and I flew to the vet. When I got there the vet took one look at her and grabbed her and bought her out back. She came back and told me that this time was different then the rest. This time she was really sick. She was presenting with neurological issues, her body temp was down. The words stroke, brain tumor and brain bleed came up. She told me to go home and she would evaluate her more and call me later. Well, after 1 1/2 in the hospital, it turned out that Princess had a hypoglycemic reaction. This happened because her stomach was sick, so she really hadn't been eating. so, they gave her meds did some test and sent us home.
The end result? They are not real sure why she keeps getting stomach sick. The Vet has a gut feeling that there is something more serious going on. She gave us the option to continue and do more test, which would cost a ton of money, or take her home on a bunch of scripts and prescription food and see how she does. Well, after the $800.00 vet bill, we decided to take her home and see how she does. so, we started giving the pills last night and it is not fun. We have tried tricking her with every kind of food possible, but she won't go for it. So, I have to literally shove my finger down her throat to get her to take these pills. I hope for Princess's sake and my own she gets better soon.
Some people have asked me how much longer will I go on with this, and how much more money will I spend. My answer, until I feel like Princess and I can;t do this anymore. I will wait for princess to tell me enough. It is so hard when you love something so much. Unless you are a complete animal lover (which I am) you will never understand. I do this for the love of Princess.

My babies in Kindergarten

Can you Believe it? My baby is in kindergarten. I didn;t think it would have bothered me as much as it did. It is a tough day when you realize that your baby is growing up.
anyways, he did better than expected. he met a new friend that he really enjoys, and doesn;t live far from us. He left his blankie at home (Abbey told you that he definately couldn;t bring that to school). I did have his blanket in the car and ready for him, and he was so happy to have it. By the end of the day He was exhausted. When it was time for bed he asked me to pick him up, and when I replied no, he said"please mommy, you baby boy is so tired". Oh my goodness. Does he play the heart strings or what?
The next day he went a full day and when it came to walk in with the teacher, he went right in like a champ. Like I said. My baby is growing up. Enjoy everday you can, you can't get those days back. There only babies for such a small time.

Abbey's 1st day of second grade

Well, another school year here. Abbey is enetering the second grade. She was up at the crack of dawn. She got herself all dressed with her new clothes and shoes. She was so excited that she left the tags on all her clothes. For her 1st day of school she decided to sport a new outfit from Justice. I think she thinks she looks like Hannah Montana. She did look cute. Well, it is now time to adjust back to school schedule. Bring on the fall.

Plum Island

Finally, we had a day without rain. What do you do
when it has been raining everyday for the last 2 months
and you get a day that is sunny and rain free? You go to
the beach (before it rains again). Kerry has been wanting to get to the beach all summer, but with the rain it has been impossible. Well, we checked the weather for the week and Wednesday was a go. We packed our lunches, sand toys, boogie boards, and kids and off to the beach we went. Kerry has never been to Plum Island, so I thought it would be fun to go there. When I was growing up, my family and I would go to plum Island almost every weekend. I have found that 20 years later, I still love it.
The weather was gorgeous, the beach was busy. There was a ton of kids at the beach. I think lots of moms had the same idea. It's not raining, get the kids outside. This was Maeve's first trip to the beach. She was so good. She loved the sand(even the taste Hehehe), but was afraid of the ocean. Unlike her mother, she took a liking to the seagulls. She thought it was great to run around feeding them (I showed her that). Ryan was very content in his beach chair eating goldfish, until he explored the water. He then decided he wanted to swim the rest of the day. Abbey and Orla spent all day in the water riding the waves. Of course Abbey was freezing and had to come out often to warm up, but not Orla, she stayed in the water ALL day. It was fun to watch Orla enjoying herself so much. She was jumping and riding the waves, without a care in the world. I have to say, the waves were pretty good sized for this area. Orla was wounds to prove it. She had scraps on her chin, belly, and legs from getting slammed by the waves into the sand. It didn't matter though, she was lovin life.
Kerry and I chilled in our chairs and people watched, always fun.
To top off the day, we stopped at Friendlys and treated ourselves to ice cream. We had a wonderful day, and I am hoping to get one more beach day in before school starts. Please let the rain stop!!!!!!!

A walk down the beach

I have my last photography class this coming wednesday, a
nd my final project is "A walk down the beach". Well, I took a ton of photos when we were at the cape, but I needed a few more. These pics were taken in a beach in Newburyport Plum Island. It was cold, but oh so pretty. The beach is my favorite place in the world. The air is clean, the water crashing against the shore, the sand between your toes. Serene..... this is how I feel about the beach.
